The swamps of southwestern old empire. Not too far from Lakonia, and not too far from the ocean or the closest river. Yet, something made it as far away as possible. The very air was alight with energy and magic, although most wouldn’t be able to see that. What they could see, however, was what the myst was doing to the swamp itself. All effects were temporary, as was commonplace for the effects the Myst bore, but for now…

When one saw this swamp, they’d see a veritable glade of nature. When one thought of a swamp, normally they’d be imagining trekking through muddy, thigh high water surrounding trees. But under the influence of powerful magic, the waters were far deeper and clearer than glass. One could look through it and see the roots of the trees and the dirt on the bottom. Glowing particles flowed through the water as if normal, paired with both the natural fish you would see in a swamp, and Myst fish. There were even myst-touched mammals who walked through the water as if it were thin air.

The only reason you could look down and behold this spectacle were the twisting roots and branches of the trees, of which there were so many, it created a floor of twisting natural wooden formations, with gaps few and far between. Every step you took was on a different piece of wood, but felt as firm as solid rock ground. From below, glowing lights lit up the features of anyone walking there, blue and yellow lights dancing around their silhouette whenever they got close to holes which showed the beautiful water below.

The hairy goblin ventured further without issue, his feet comfortably stepping on the twisting walkway that the enchanted nature had created. The air was still, but the chirps of birds and swirling of water tickled the ears as the damp warmth of the swamp comfortably hugged the skin. The goblin inspected a strange tree, to see only that this tree was as a matter of fact, not made of wood, but rather made of bent water! Water was spiralling up from below, twisting into the shape of a tree, branches included. It even had magical flowers on it’s bark, as a fish swam around at a human’s eye level. The goblin looked around with calm eyes, seeing multiple trees like this. It sure was fascinating when the illogical intersected with the logical.

Kree’s grey fur lit up for a moment, giving him a bright outline, as the sun barely trickled in from in between the foliage of tall, enchanted swamp trees. The usual dullness of the swamp had been entirely overtaken with this enchanted energy. Fkreegn ran his claw along some bark, sparkling Myst energy fizzing at the bark as his claw rapped up and down in accordance with the bark’s rough pattern. Even the slightest touch got his claw wet with the moisture of the swamp, just like his feet had been from walking this natural tangled walkway.

His ears slowly rose to accompany the motion of his claw going along the bark, dropping down to both being horizontal as he retracted his hand. His finger gingerly retreated from the bark.

Her family was safe and to keep her safe as heir to their House they had sent Falauna away. Sadly the escort they had hired left her soon after leaving. Either they hadn't been paid enough or they had only been told to make sure she made it away from their area. It really didn't matter, what did was that she was wandering into a new area of the swamps.

She was unfamiliar with the area and took her time moving around. A wrong step and she could drop into the murky water below, never to be seen again. Strong swimmer or not, it didn't matter. As she progressed through the land, it started to change around her.

What had been murky water, started to clear. The trees that were moss-covered were no longer. Something odd was going on around here and it made her curious. This was not natural. At least not by any standards she knew of. Poking her head around one of the...water trees? She saw a figure glow for a moment and then the light faded as the sun moved and the wind blew through the high natural trees.

Letting out a slight gasp, she jumped back a step, tripped over a root and fell on her rump. Growling at being so clumsy, she stood up, brushed her hair out of her face and attempted to wipe the slight muck off her rear end. Once that was done, she looked up to see if the glowing goblin had noticed her.
